Connects University is a student-focused education and campus community platform built in Pakistan. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, where it may be stored and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, username, role, institution, education level and authentication details.
- Profile and community content: profile images, posts, captions, comments, reactions, follows, messages, searches and content interactions.
- Learning and assignment content: assignment files, submission details, teacher assignment links and related metadata.
- Technical information: device, browser, network and basic diagnostic information needed for security, performance and troubleshooting.
How we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts, display profiles and community posts, deliver learning and assignment features, personalize the feed, support teachers and students, prevent misuse, troubleshoot errors and improve the platform during beta.
Google Drive assignment storage
When the assignment feature is enabled, optimized assignment files submitted through Connects University may be stored in a private Google Drive controlled by Connects University. The platform requests the limited drive.file permission, which allows it to work only with files and folders it creates or opens for this feature—not unrelated files in the Drive.
Assignment media may be displayed in the Campus feed through a protected media link and may be opened or downloaded by the submitting student, the assigned teacher and authorized platform administrators. Connects University does not sell Google user data or use Drive data for advertising.
Connects University's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Connects Freelance
Freelance uses your existing Connects account. We store freelance profile details, portfolio items, job briefs, proposals, project agreements, messages, delivery files, reviews, notifications and moderation reports to operate the marketplace. Published jobs, freelance profiles and reviews can be viewed by signed-in members. Portfolio images are public files; do not upload confidential work to your portfolio.
Freelance portfolio images and project delivery files use Supabase Storage. Delivery files are stored privately and are available to project participants and authorized administrators through temporary download links. This is separate from Google Drive assignment storage. Authorized administrators can review project records when handling reports.
A freelancer may share a completed project's title and client review to the Campus feed only after the client allows that sharing. Private messages and delivery files are not included in the achievement post. Payments are not processed by this version of Connects Freelance.
Service providers
We use service providers to operate the platform, including Supabase for authentication, database and backend services; Google Drive for assignment-file storage when enabled; and hosting or delivery providers used to serve the website and app. These providers process information only as needed to deliver their services.
Visibility and sharing
Information you publish to the feed or a public profile can be seen by other Connects University users. Private messages and restricted assignment controls are intended only for their authorized participants, although no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Data retention and deletion
We keep information while your account is active and as reasonably needed to operate, secure and improve the service or meet legal obligations. Content may remain in backups for a limited period. You may delete supported content inside the platform or request account and associated-data deletion by emailing us from the address connected to your account.
Your choices
You may update profile information, control supported notifications, remove content where deletion is available, revoke Google authorization from your Google Account and request access, correction or deletion of your personal information.
Children and student safety
Users must meet the minimum age required by applicable law or use the service with appropriate parent, guardian or institution permission. Users should never post passwords, identity documents, private academic records or other highly sensitive information publicly.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including authentication, access controls and restricted backend credentials. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials private and reporting suspected unauthorized access promptly.
Policy updates
We may update this policy as Connects University grows. The effective date above will change when material revisions are published.
